Performance Management Feedback & Coaching
Feedback should happen often during the performance management process—so that there are no surprises at the end of the year. The feedback process involves:
Ongoing feedback and coaching: Throughout the year, your supervisor will meet with you to discuss progress on your goals and offer guidance.
An interim review: Around the middle of the performance cycle, you and your supervisor will meet to discuss your performance and whether your expected job results need to be modified. During this interim review, you and your supervisor can also identify improvement opportunities for the remainder of the year.
Obtaining and documenting feedback: Your supervisor will document your performance, based on feedback from a variety of sources including:
- their own direct observation of your results and behaviors
- third-party reports from your customers, peers, direct reports (if any) and other managers you interact with
- your own self assessment of your performance
