It is with great sadness that the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) announces the passing of Mark A. Wagner, a longtime champion of our mission and the leader of HACM’s Board of Commissioners.
HACM will hold a public hearing to amend its 2023 Agency Plan and ACOP for public housing. The purpose of the hearing is to receive comments on changes made to implement the final rule from HUD regarding limitations on continued occupancy for over-income families in public housing.

To date, the Business Loan Program has helped eight businesses either launch, expand or relocate into the neighborhood, created/retained 58 jobs, and spurred exponential growth and largescale economic development throughout the community.
This 45-day Public Notice is hereby given that the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee will hold a public hearing to amend its submitted 2023 Agency Plan and its associated documents. The purpose of the hearing will be to receive comments as required by HUD.
Effective March 1, 2023, HACM is teaming up with AffordableHousing.com to connect landlords with HACM’s Housing Choice Voucher participants. In partnership with Milwaukee landlords, this program provides safe, quality, affordable housing for thousands of households annually.
Residents of the revitalized housing community will be eligible to receive free internet access thanks to a partnership between PCs for People, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee, and Microsoft.
Leveraging public-private partnerships, the agency has awarded 149 project-based vouchers to developers and property owners in the area.
Mr. Hines makes history as the first African American and former HACM resident to lead the agency in its 78-year history.

Mr. Hines was selected as a 40 Under 40 honoree in 1999. The Milwaukee Business Journal has been honoring Milwaukee’s up-and-coming young professionals with its 40 Under 40 awards for 29 years.
HACM was awarded a $750,000 Affordable Housing Program grant from the FHL Bank of Pittsburgh to support the financing for Westlawn Renaissance V, a 44-unit midrise building at Westlawn Gardens.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation announced the Milwaukee Soldiers Home, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as the recipient of the 2021 ACHP/HUD Secretary’s Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation.
The PNC Foundation is awarding a $600,000 grant to support the launch of the Black Business Boost Fund, an ecosystem designed to increase opportunities for Black entrepreneurs and business owners in underinvested neighborhoods of Milwaukee.
Oak at Westlawn Gardens was honored at The Daily Reporter’s 22nd annual Top Projects Awards on September 29, 2021. The event recognizes outstanding achievements by Wisconsin builders, owners, engineers, architects, and more.
In accordance with The Housing Authority City of Milwaukee’s (HACM) duty to provide and maintain a workplace free of known hazards, HACM will implement a mandatory vaccination policy effective Wednesday, September 1, 2021 for COVID-19.
